International Day of Women and Girls in Science

Girls in ICT

The United Nations General Assembly in 2015 declared 11 February as the International Day of Women and Girls in Science. The goal set is to achieve full and equal access to and participation in science for women and girls, and further achieve gender equality and the empowerment of women and girls. On this day, CENIT@EA celebrates its female staff and students.

There is a big shortage of female scientists across East Africa and we need to encourage more girls to study science.

Neema Mduma, PhD
