Kisangiri F. Michael has been working with NM-AIST as lecturer then Senior lecturer since December 2011. Before joining NM-AIST, he worked with Dar-es Salaam Institute of Technology in the position of lecturer for 3 years. He is a PhD holder in the field of Telecommunications, with which he graduated from Wroclaw University of Technology – Poland. currently he is working as academician and has supervised dozens of MSc and several Phd researches. He possesses good knowledge in Artificial intelligence, Antenna design, and wireless communication systems. He is fluent speaker of three languages: Swahili, English, Polish.

Dr. Mussa Ally Dida

Dr. Mussa Ally Dida is a Lecturer at Nelson Mandela African Institution of Science and Technology (NM-AIST) and a Deputy Centre Leader of a Centre of Excellence for ICT in East Africa (CENIT@EA). He acquired his PhD in Information and Communication Engineering from Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT), Beijing, China in June 2017. His Master’s of Science in Telecommunication Engineering was from University of Dodoma and his B.Sc. in Computer Engineering and Information Technology were obtained from University of Dar es Salaam (UDSM) both obtained in 2011 and 2008 respectively. His research interests include communication systems analysis, modeling, and development, embedded system development. Currently he is working on the development of farmers’ extension support system and farmer’s logistic system.

Dr. Shubi Kaijage

Senior Lecturer and Ag. Dean


He earned his Doctor of Engineering(Dr. Eng.) in Electronics and Informaion Engineering under Interdisciplinary Intelligent Systems Engineering from the University of the Ryukus in Okinawa Japan as well his Master of Engineering in Electrical and Electronics Engineering. His field of specialization is Electronics and Information Engineering, Optics and Photonics, Photenic Crystal Fibers/waveguides, Fiber Optics Communications and Terahertz Wave Technology. Dr. Kaijage has over 50 scientific papaers in international journals and over 40 international conference proceedings. His Research Interests are Fiber to Home (FTTH), Applications inwireless sensor networks-WSN, Radio Frequency Identififcation (RFID) Technologies and other electronic and information engineering application as well as Bioinformatics and artifical intelligence.

Dr. Anael Sam

Senior Lecturer


He earned his PhD in Electronics Engineering from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology at Slovak University of Technology, Slovak Republic. Previously, he held the position of Senior System Test Engineer for Nokia Siemens Networks R&D department (2010- 2012). He also worked as System Test Engineer in R&D of Logica Slovakia s.r.o. a subsidiary of Logica Plc. (2007-2010). He worked for Siemens Program and System Engineering (PSE) s.r.o. Slovakia (2004 – 2007). Also he worked as Software Expert for Alcatel Lucent, Slovakia (2000-2003). His research interests are: Radio, Multimedia, Mobile and Wireless Communication Systems; Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering, Software Quality Assurance Engineering; Mobile Networks Planning and Optimization. He is author and co-author of more than 35 scientific publications.

Dr. Neema Mduma

Social Media and Communication Team


Dr. Neema Mduma is a lecturer at the Nelson Mandela African Institution of Science and Technology (NM-AIST) in Tanzania. She has PhD and MSc in Information and Communication Sciences and Engineering from NM-AIST in 2020 and 2016 respectively. Neema is passionate about education particularly girls, and during her PhD, she developed a Machine Learning model called BakiShule which aimed at preventing students from dropping out of school. Neema’s efforts towards women in science have been recognized and she was given an award from the L’Oréal UNESCO as 20 young talents in Sub-Saharan Africa for the year 2020. Her research interests are Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and Data Science.

Dr. Devotha Nyambo

Dr. Devotha Nyambo is the lecturer at the Nelson Mandela African Institution of Science and Technology. Being a computer scientist, she has developed a great interest in data aggregation, analysis and modeling (statistical and computational). She has worked on various projects internal and external as a researcher focused on tools development, deployment and data management. Her technical skills lie on: use of machine learning models to extract knowledge from data, real world modelling and abstraction. She is also experienced in paperless data capture (tools development, data management and field data collection). Dr. Ramadhani Sinde

Dr. Ramadhani Sinde received the Bachelor degree in 2009, and Master’s degree in 2011, both in Engineering and Technologies in Telecommunication specialized in Radio Engineering and Communication Systems and Equipment, from Moscow Technical University of Communication and Informatics.In 2013 he spent four months at Dhirubhai Ambani Institute of Information and Communication Technology as a visiting researcher under CV Raman scholarship. In 2016 he spent six months at Centre for Development of Advanced Computing in India for Postgraduate studies in mobile computing. He works as a lecturer in the School of Computational and Communication Sciences and Engineering (CoCSE) at Nelson Mandela African Institution of Science and Technology (NM-AIST). Also, he works as the head of CoCSE laboratory.

Ing. Dr. Judith Leo

Ing. Dr. Judith Leo is a Tanzanian female Data Scientist. Currently, working as a Lecturer at the Nelson Mandela African Institution of Science and Technology (NMAIST). Her interest is in the data science and data-driven solutions, use of Mobile App and IoT for solving society and industry’s challenges, area of optical fibre installation, bandwidth and energy optimization, advanced network configuration, system development and modelling. She has experience in working with multidisciplinary research action which integrates diverse areas in Information and Communication Technology (ICT), environment, health, social and business areas.
