CENIT@EA congratulates EMoS students Kaluuma Hillary, Alban Manishimwe and Hillary Kaluuma working under Maendeleo Tech company for winning the 3rd position in the Africa AI & IoT Challenge. The team pitched on “A COVID-19 SOPs Adherence System” and one member will represent at the global event in Dubai, UAE.

Participation in the Africa AI & IoT Challenge
Maendeleo Tech represented by the head of marketing and sales, Kenneth Patrick Asiimwe, emerged 3rd out of 8 at the national finals in Uganda under the category of startups. The idea that won them the 3rd position is “A COVID-19 SOPs Adherence System” that leverages the power of AI and IoT to ensure that people in public spaces like malls, lounges, mass mobility transport modes adhere to the recommended SOPs to curtail the spread of contagious diseases.
The same solution will make data available to stakeholders in the mentioned places to guide their planning and decision making. The team will have one representative to pitch the same idea and a prototype at the global event in hosted in Dubai, UAE.
