Win: EMoS Students @ NM-AIST Business Plan Competition

Business Plan Competition Winner Maji Yetu

We are celebrating a great achievement for EMoS student Aina Alfred to be the overall winner of the NM-AIST Business Plan Competition. Together with her fellow students Rahab Uwamahoro, Frank Nyange and Avith Haboniman she submitted the winning project “Maji Yetu” aimed at providing a technological solution for water scarcity in low income communities. The project was supervised by Dr Mussa Ally and Dr Neema Mduma.

About the NM-AIST Business Plan Competition

The aim of the Business Plan Competition is to promote and stimulate innovative skills for creative problem solving earmarked from community. The problems are translated to expert knowledge in form of project processed through technology transfer to enhance sustainable incubation, commercialisation for job creation.

10 teams competed in the final stage of the Business Plan Competition. The themes encouraged students to write into the multidisciplinary issues with the area of focus of Water, Sanitation, food and nutrition security and related field.
